i found a great tool for removing headliner, carpet, or vinyl flooring is a MULTIMASTER, or other tool that, just moves back and forth (Oscillating) they can remove old glue, cut wood, sand, grind... and much much more! a Dremel multi-max will run about $100 and multimaster will run about $400. so at a not bad price you can have a tool that is great for so many things weather you are restoring, fixing, or just sailing a boat one of these should be in your tool kit!
